Benut u alle mogelijkheden met uw website?
Obviously, just about all online businesses could not leave home with a website. But if you do, how would you be able to make those product/service sales? So even if you’re just profit oriented, you’ll still need a way to capture emails and customer information. But it’s not just a matter of having a website in order to produce an online income. Your site must be able to make conversions – turn visitors into buyers before you’ll ever make anything online. When you are first starting out you probably have an idea of what kind of website you’d like to have. How do you know if your idea will be a profitable site? We want to offer some design tips that can help you make the most out of your vision.
White space in your website: Nothing to be afraid of! If you look around, it can seem like some designers look at white space as something to be avoided. You’ll see so many websites with an abundance of pics and colors, and that’s one reason why. You can easily create a professional image with white space, plus it has a clean, uncluttered look to it. White space will benefit your readers because their eyes will remain more relaxed which will help them to concentrate more on your content. When you fill a site with color and images, your visitors will have a hard time figuring out where to look on the page.
Make your fonts attractive and eye-catching, but don’t use too many different ones. Using many different fonts is a temptation that many new website builders give in to. You have to keep in mind that visitors to your website will find it harder to read if you use too many fonts. While using one or two fonts can be good for decoration, any more than that screams “amateur!” Whatever fonts you do choose, make sure that they are easy on the eyes of visitors. You don’t want anything that is so complex or arty that people have to take time to decipher it. Remember, you want your site to be easy to read. It’s fun to be artistic and creative, but for a commercial site, simplicity and readability are paramount.
Popup windows are another “in your face” kind of device that many visitors won’t appreciate.
Popup windows are usually designed to get visitors’ personal information; however, why should they want to give you this before they’ve even had a chance to view your site (and they can’t see your site if it’s covered over by the popup window)? It’s not a good idea to force your visitors to view things like popups when they enter your site. This is the kind of website feature that could be preventing you from making many sales!
Still another intrusive tactic that people don’t like is when a popup stops them from exiting your site. When people try to click away and leave your site, you should not put obstacles in their way. Having a popup window asking people who have already clicked away if they really want to go is annoying. This is the kind of practice that will make it less likely your visitors will ever return.
You don’t have to be a graphic artist or programming expert to build a good website. If you put some consistent effort into your website, you can make it great. It isn’t usually hard to make an educated guess about what is good for your site. In most cases, you can trust your own judgment to tell you if something will be good for your website or not. It is as simple as that. The more people like your website, the more likely they will become paying customers.
